The Microsoft® Windows™ Mail app uses a combined Autodiscover process to automatically configure your email account.

Please find below the steps to enter in your account details and use Autodiscover to complete your account setup.

  • The process for configuring email accounts is essentially the same between all supported versions of Windows Mail. Information below follows the examples defined in Windows Mail on Windows 10.
  • 1.  Launch Windows Mail. On the left side of the screen, choose Accounts on the left. You will see something like the below screen. Click on Add Account. on the right side menu that opens up.

  • 2. The Add Account wizard will appear. You must choose Other Account - POP/IMAP.

  • 3. You will now need to enter in basic details for your email account. The field Send messages using this name is used for the "display name" on your account when you send messages from Windows Mail. Click Sign In.

  • 3. Windows Mail will now proceed to use Autodiscover to detect and configure your email account. This may take a moment.

  • 4. You will see confirmation once account configuration is complete. Click Done to return to Windows Mail.
